The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) is a regional intergovernmental political and economic union. The original union comprised of the Gulf states of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. These countries are often referred to as "the GCC states".
